Elena Thomason, MA, LPC

EMDRIA Approved Consultant

Elena has spent 15 years working with college students in student life and enjoying her work as a professor and counselor.  Her work with college students helped her develop specialties in grief and loss, identity formation, eating disorders, mood disorders, premarital counseling, and trauma.

Elena views counseling as part of a journey.  There are times in life when the path gets rocky, foggy, and difficult, and we need help navigating those seasons of life.  In these times, it is her hope to provide an authentic and caring environment that will allow her clients to embrace the pain that is a necessary part of change and navigate the difficult seasons of life successfully.  She takes a holistic approach to counseling, looking at all aspects of her clients and their situations.  Over the past few years, EMDR has become an integral tool in her practice.

Elena was born in Mexico but grew up in southern California.  After college, she made her way to Colorado Springs, where she has lived for the past 20 years.  She has been married for 16 years and has three wonderfully energetic kids who keep her grounded and daily teach her so much about herself.  She loves the ocean but is also continually in awe of the majestic mountains that she gets to call home.
