Emmie Perry, LMFT

EMDRIA Approved Consultant

Emmie Perry is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), an EMDR Certified Therapist, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and part of the Greenwood Counseling Center Team.

Emmie began her career in community mental health, working with high-risk youth and families in residential and day treatment settings. In this setting, Emmie witnessed the incredible efficacy of EMDR in alleviating the often devastating effects of trauma and in empowering the survivors of abuse, neglect, and trauma to bravely change their life stories. Since transitioning into the GCC team, Emmie now specializes in utilizing EMDR to guide clients through processing traumatic information while fostering the brain’s natural resilience. Emmie works with clients of all ages, particularly enjoying working with children, adolescents, and young adults who are experiencing trauma, attachment challenges, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and everyday stressors. Emmie pulls from several theoretical approaches based on the client’s unique needs, including Attachment Theory, Structural Family Therapy, Ego State Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and Synergetic Play Therapy.

Emmie maintains a dedication and admiration of EMDR through consistently attending advanced training and engaging in self-study on EMDR topics. Emmie facilitates consultation groups at EMDR Center of the Rockies Basic Trainings and provides both individual and group consultation to clinicians who are working toward their EMDR Certification. Emmie strives to provide an open, enriching, and attentive environment to both clients and consultees.
